I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for their continued support this term.
Excellent attendance is vital for your child's future. Missing school causes severe disruption to your child's education. Please do not keep your child off with minor ailments, we can support them in the Academy. When making doctor, dentist and optician appointments, please try to do so after 3:15pm.
In assembly this week, students were reminded of the importance of keeping themselves safe on line. As a parent or carer you play a key role in helping your child to stay safe online. It is important to speak with your child on an ongoing basis about staying safe online. The NSPCC provides useful guidance on this matter. Information can be accessed by searching "NSPCC online safety" on your preferred search engine.
We have also spoken to all students to explain that there will be a lockdown practice next term. This will become a regular feature of the Academy year. A lockdown is implemented when there are serious security risks to the students, staff or premises due to, for example, a near-by chemical spillage, the proximity of dangerous dogs, serious weather conditions or attempted access to the site by an unauthorised person. During a lockdown, students remain safely in their classrooms with their teachers. If we are ever in a situation where the procedure would need to be implemented, all students and staff will need to be aware of the protocol.
We have been informed by Anglian Water of a major road closure starting on the 18th February and running for 5 weeks. The closure will be from the Greyfleet Bank junction with the A1031 Main Road to the junction of the B1200 and the A1031. Diversions will be set up. All school transport providers have been notified. There will be no change in the bus service provided and your child will be expected to be at the bus stop at the usual time.
If you have any queries about this matter, please contact Anglian Water on 03457 145 145.
Please sign your son/daughter's planner on page 30, the Academy/Home Communications page, to indicate that you have received this letter.
