Impressive Win For Dorado House On Sports Day

Somercotes Academy Sports Day held at King George V Stadium, Grimsby. Manisha Bains and Spencer Shoebridge, Year 10 Captains, receive the Winners Trophy for Dorado House from Academy Principal, Frances Green.


Dorado House won the Somercotes Academy Sports Day Trophy after a competitive day of athletics.

Year 10 House Captains, Manisha Bains and Spencer Shoebridge, received rapturous applause from their housemates as they lifted the trophy, which was presented by Principal Frances Green. The event took place in the athletics arena at King George V Stadium, in Grimsby.

Chris Prendergast, Curriculum Leader for P.E., said: "The day couldn't have gone any better. Every single pupil who attended was a credit to Somercotes Academy. Every event was competed in the Somercotes Academy spirit, which is always on show at our extra-curricular events, with plenty of support coming from the stands to cheer on their teams. Well done to everyone involved and well done Dorado house on an impressive victory."
