Somercotes Academy Year 10 students, who are studying for their Btec Sports qualification, mentored the pupils and led them through a variety of activities based around agility and balance. Both Somercotes and Theddlethorpe Academies are members of Tollbar Multi Academy Trust.
Rachel Elson, Somercotes Academy P.E. Leader, said: "The Primary Sports Festival brings benefits for both the younger and the older students. For our Year 10 students who are working towards their Btec qualification it brings valuable practical experience of leading an event. For the primary school pupils it gives them a chance to try out activities they may not have tried before in a new environment and to get some support and encouragement from the older children."
