Somercotes Academy students were delighted to meet Victoria Atkins, MP for Louth and Horncastle, who invited them along to a Careers Fair. The Year 11 students visited the Royal British Legion HQ in Louth for the event, which was attended by employers from a wide variety of local and national organisations.

Victoria Atkins said: "The aim of the careers fair is to help bring job seekers to local and national companies. I'm really pleased with how it has gone. This year we have brought it into the centre of Louth, and it is great to see Somercotes Academy students here."

Student Sophie Harris said: "It has been very interesting. I'm looking at Law and Politics so it was nice chatting with Victoria Atkins."

Private Kevin Darby, of 3 Royal Anglian Regiment of the Army Reserves Four Company Lincoln, chatted with Somercotes Academy students. He said: "We hope to give students an insight into the Regular and Reserve Army and show them opportunities and job roles that are available to them."

Student Joe Willis (15) said: "I am interested in joining the Reserves and possibly full time. It sounds like a really interesting job."

Neo Steele (14) said: "I want to join the Marines. I have learnt a lot about what qualifications I need and what's involved today. It was worth coming here."
